Update 8/3/20

As we all continue to deal with the unprecedented challenge of COVID-19, we want to assure you that the top priority for all of us at Five Star Credit Union is the health and well-being of our members and staff. We have implemented numerous steps to limit the spread of the virus at our branch locations, and these efforts have been quite successful. We have been able to maintain member services at these branch locations despite a limited number of cases of coronavirus infections among our team members.

We believe it’s important to keep you fully informed during this extraordinary time, we want to tell you about a recent outbreak in our administrative operations – areas that do not have face-to-face contact with members. In mid-July, over a two-week period, several of the office staff at our Dothan headquarters showed indications of COVID-19, and some tested positive. All of these employees quarantined at home. Thankfully none were hospitalized and all are doing well. Many have already returned to work. The important thing for you to know is that the affected employees serve in our call centers and similar operations, and do not have any direct contact with members.

Here are some of the steps we have taken to protect you and our staff since COVID-19 became a public health issue:

  • We deep clean the Five Star headquarters every week; staff disinfect their areas daily
  • Each branch is required to disinfect the branch every day and often they do it hourly
  • We maintain social distancing within our branches and headquarters offices
  • Since the Alabama governor mandated everyone wear a mask, all of our tellers and other front-line workers have worn face masks in every branch
  • All Five Star office workers are wearing masks anytime they might interact with others
  • Hand sanitizer is readily available for everyone at each of our locations
  • We closed all common areas in our headquarters, including break rooms and other areas where people may congregate, and have limited the number of people on elevators
  • We have limited vendor access to our locations so that only essential vendors enter
  • As much as possible, we conduct all business meetings by phone rather than in person

By being a Five Star member, you have placed your trust in us – and we are determined to continue to earn that trust, each and every day. We are doing everything possible to limit COVID-19’s impact at our locations, and our professional staff are doing great work to continue serving you through this crisis. We look forward to continuing to serve you, now and into a coronavirus-free future.

Ways to Transact at Five Star

Five Star encourages all members to wear a mask when entering its branch lobbies. Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey is mandating masks to be worn throughout the state until August 31. Five Star is broadening the mandate to all of its branches in Alabama and Georgia. Thank you for understanding.

The Cedar Springs branch is drive-thru only. However, that has been its regular business hours since 2019.

Here are multiple ways to electronically access your account.
