We will send updates through email, our mobile app, our website, and Facebook as needed.

Update from Five Star Credit Union on our Coronavirus Preparedness
Wednesday, March 18, 2020

Because people rely on Five Star for their financial services, we wanted to give you an update about the precautions we are taking with regards to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) virus.

We continue to monitor announcements and direction from health and government leaders, and we are exercising established plans to take care of our members and employees, as needed. As of now, day-to-day operations have not been interrupted.

At Five Star, the health and safety of our members and employees are very important amid concerns about the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) illness. At this time we do not expect to make any modifications to our operating schedule or close any of our locations until we are required to do so.

Now is the time to make sure you have all you need to stay in touch with us and your account. Make sure we have your most recent email address, have downloaded the mobile app, and like us on Facebook for potential updates to our operating schedule.

Steps we’re taking

Our staff has been encouraged to take extra precautions with hygiene and to stay at home when they do not feel well.

  • We are monitoring information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as federal, state, and local agencies to help ensure the actions we’re taking are in line with the latest recommendations and guidance.
  • Every day our staff are wiping down our lobbies, ATMs, ITMs, and all work areas with disinfecting solutions.
  • We are communicating regularly with our employees to keep them informed and to ensure their safety.

  Access to your account

We have a number of ways for you to access your account outside of the branch.

  • Mobile App – download from your device’s app store
  • Online Banking – access from fivestarcu.com
  • Phonelink – 800.995.7827 – you need your PIN to access your account
  • ITMs at our 231 South, Murphy Mill, and Blakely locations

With our mobile app, you can check your balance, transfer money, pay on your Five Star loans, deposit checks, search for surcharge-free ATMs, and stay in touch with us. Your online banking login works with the app.

If you need help setting your PIN for Phonelink, give us a call at 888-619-1711 option 7.

Beware of Coronavirus Scams

Look out for suspicious emails and text messages, medical supply scams, and fraudulent donation sites that may impersonate a company, charity, or government agency. The intent is to convince you to share sensitive information such as usernames and passwords, make purchases or donations on spoof websites, or download malware onto your device by opening a malicious attachment. If you receive a suspicious email or text message, don’t respond, click on any links or open attachments. Verify the authenticity of any website before making a purchase or donation. There is a Coronavirus scam that is targeting Android platform users right now. Be aware and do not answer emails or texts from anyone you do not know and do not click any links.

If Five Star reaches out to you, we won’t ask for confidential information such as your name, password, personal identification number (PIN), or other account information through email or text.
