For the first time, Downtown Dothan will hold a “peanut drop” at the stroke of midnight. Five Star Credit Union is helping to sponsor the event. This family event has activities for the kids earlier in the evening that culminates with a “balloon drop” at 9pm. There are more adult activities that will run right up to midnight including live music. When the clock strikes 12 midnight, a giant peanut will drop in a similar fashion to the ball dropping in New York City.
The peanut took shape this fall as it grew from a peanut outline to its final shape that will be lit up for all to see. This is a new event that Five Star hopes will take off to become an annual event. The credit union is happy to sponsor to make it easy for everyone to attend. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
